Girl ‘raped while satanic child abuse ring holding concerts and using ouija boards clapped and cheered’

Children were forced to take part in magic tricks and concerts and were sexually assaulted while members of a vicious child abuse ring looked on, a court heard.

Eleven people are on trial at the High Court in Glasgow accused of a range of crimes, with several facing charges of rape and sexual assault, while five are charged with attempted murder.

Iain Owens, 45, Elaine Lannery, 39, Lesley Williams, 41, Paul Brannan, 41, Marianne Gallagher, 38, Scott Forbes, 50, Barry Watson, 47, Mark Carr, 49, Richard Gachagan, 45, Leona Laing, 50 and John Clarke, 46, deny all the charges, which involve four children.

All eleven are accused of forcing children to attend concerts and use a ouija board or similar object to “summon spirits and demons”, at various addresses in the Glasgow area.

The children also allegedly participated in lessons that included magic, spells and wands that made them believe they had been “transformed into animals,” court documents show.

A girl was chased by people wearing devil masks, hung by her clothes from a nail on the wall, locked in a microwave, oven, fridge, freezer and cupboards, a court heard.

Owens, Lannery, Williams, Brannan, Clark are also charged with attempted murder of the girl, who was also allegedly allegedly acting like a dog and eating dog food.

The group, which is also accused of stabbing and abusing dogs, also made a child dress in underwear and “dance in a sexual manner” on several occasions between October 1, 2018 and June 19, 2019, the indictment alleges, before she was raped by a man. team members.

The women are accused of watching, with the indictment adding that they “applauded, cheered and verbally encouraged” the abuse, while some videotaped the attack.

The children were also allegedly forced to repeatedly abuse each other with household items.

On two occasions between January 1, 2019 and March 23, 2019, the group allegedly forced a boy to masturbate in front of them and then forced him to have sex with some of the women while the men watched.

In a terrifying allegation, a toddler was held in her crib as men raped her while others cheered and filmed, a court heard.

All 11 are charged with possession of drugs including diamorphine and cocaine, while Owens, Lannery, Williams, Brannan and Watson also face charges of supplying Class A drugs.

Three others, including Maureen Goudie, Steven McHendrie and Robert Brown, are also listed as involved in a number of the charges, but court documents said they are now dead.

Jurors were told Tuesday that the case, which has a 10-page indictment that includes 32 counts spanning a 10-year period from 2010 to 2020, could last more than six weeks.

Giving evidence, Detective Constable Nicola Hay said the investigation into the alleged crimes, dubbed Operation Woodwhite, began in March 2020.
